Aim To observe the obstetric outcome of patients with heterotopic pregnancy of intrauterine and cornuall/ interstitial pregnancy after in vitro fertilization and fresh or frozen-thawed embryo transfer treated with three different ways (laparotomy，fetal reduction and expectant).
Material and Method This paper retrospectively observed 23 patients with coexistence of intrauterine and cornual/interstitial pregnancy, who were managed with three different ways (laparotomy, fetal reduction and expectant). All the patients were followed up to obtain the obstetric outcomes.
Results In the 23 patients, 14 were with intrauterine and interstitial pregnancy, 9 were with intrauterine and cornual pregnancy. Seventeen of them were treated with laparotomy, 2 of them were treated with fetal reduction, and the left 4 were given expectant treatment. After treatment, 3 intrauterine pregnancies suffered abortion in the first trimester of gestation, 14 patients got full term gestation and delivered healthy baby without complication (13 caesarean and 1 vaginal), 6 patients were under stable ongoing pregnancies at the time of data collecting.
Conclusion Surgery treatment could be a safe choice for heterotopic pregnancy after IVF, for it provides promising obstetric outcome.
